Ahmad is a 37 year old Hazara man from Afghanistan. He has been living in Perth for 9 years and is currently on a Safe Haven Enterprise Visa (SHEV). He lives in the suburb of Balga and is working as a plasterer.
His favourite way to relax is playing soccer, and his favourite place in WA to visit is John Forrest National Park.
When asked what he misses the most he said his family.
When asked what permanency would mean for him, he said ‘I will be able to relax knowing I am finally safe, and then I can make plans about my long term future, like starting a business and buying a house.’
